Ageing in Place

Challenges and Opportunities at the Interface between Housing Management and Residents

Ageing in place requires appropriate housing forms and a variety of needs-based services with well-functioning interfaces. The property management industry must meet this rapidly growing challenge and recognise the particular chances for action it presents, as well as to develop or optimise the corresponding services and processes.

The project analyses the role of property management to support ageing in place. The focus is on the options for action that need to be promoted in dealing with aging and elderly tenants living at home. This involves the development and testing of process models with various property-management participants – caretakers and rental and administration professionals.

The aim is to make the managerial and service practices in housing more age-friendly. This entails the development, together with our partners, of measures that are then to be tested and realised in market-based pilot projects.
